Quick fixes for issues with Free TV Antenna, Tablo DVR, Recast DVR, Fire TV, WiFi, Streaming, etc

Quick fixes for issues with Free TV Antenna, Tablo DVR, Recast DVR, Fire TV, WiFi, Streaming, etc

Sorry to hear about your Free TV issues. The good news is that the antenna is very rarely the issue. 99% of issues are either hardware or software related, user error or related to something you may have recently changed. Fortunately almost all of these issues can be quickly fixed with a few simple steps (1-3 usually fix it). Give it a few minutes after rebooting and check to see if your Free TV is fixed after each step.
  1. Reboot Tablo DVR or Reboot Amazon Recast DVR (unplug from power and plug back in).
  2. Reboot or Restart Fire TV Stick or your Streaming Media Player (unplug from power and plug back in).
  3. Internet, Modem & WiFi Troubleshooting steps. Unplug and restart (NOT RESET) both your modem & WiFi router (or SWS installed 2-4 white Mesh WiFi pucks).
  4. Make sure both your Amazon Fire TV Stick & Amazon Recast DVR are on the same network.
  5. Contact Sling, Philo, Netflix, Amazon or the Streaming app provider directly if the issue is isolated to 1 app and not related to Antenna channels.
  6. Additional Tablo DVR or Amazon Recast Training and Help Videos
We have put a lot of time into creating the help article links & videos above. They have expert advice and all the details needed to fix most issues (its very rare the Antenna or hardware goes bad).  Sometimes electronics get a software update and are off and cant communicate with each other temporarily, so a simple reboot fixes this.  If you have done everything above and the issue persists please give us additional details so we can narrow down the issue and potential fix:
    1. When did the issue start?
    2. Is it happening on all TVs or just 1 TV?
    3. Is it happening on 1 channel or all channels? Which channel #s?
    4. Is it happening on 1 app or all apps? Which apps?
    5. Are you receiving error messages? If so, what are they? Email pictures if you can.
    6. If SWS installed a TV antenna, is it located outside on the highest peak of the roof?
If you are not techy and unable to perform these steps or you are still having problems after performing these steps, the solution is likely more complex and will require an expert tech visit to see the issue onsite. Since we are not a service provider and do not charge a monthly rate we cannot afford to provide free domestic phone support or tech visits.
