REBOOT/RESTART NOT RESET - reset will wipe out all of your settings.
If you are having any issues with your Amazon Fire TV Stick - including apps not loading, shows buffering, streaming is freezing, WiFi not working, or other abnormal problems, etc a simple reboot will fix 90% of issues. You can quickly restart the Fire TV Stick by using one of the following options:
- Unplug the Fire TV Stick power and plug it back in again. This can be done from unplugging the small micro-USB cable from the side of the Fire Stick itself (on the TV) or from unplugging the power outlet itself. Note: Unplugging the Fire Stick from the TV's HDMI does NOT reboot it. This option #1 of a hard restart by unplugging Fire Stick from power is best, if other options have not worked.
- On the Fire TV Remote Control hold down the middle of the circle "Select" button and the "Play/Pause" button for 10 seconds.
- On the Fire TV interface on your TV screen, go to Settings - My Fire TV - Restart - Restart
Unplug the Fire TV Stick power cord. This is the one that goes into the wall outlet. Unplugging your Fire TV Stick from your TV won't have the same effect; you must disconnect the power cord or adapter.[1]
