TP-Link Deco Mesh WiFi - download app, general info, speed test & setup

We recommend you first restart your modem and mesh wifi pucks first, and then call your Internet Provider if you are still having issues. Sadly some ISP tech support reps are always quick to tell you to Reset (as opposed to restart) your modem and mesh WiFi pucks. Resetting these should only be a last resort as it will completely clear all settings, which means they will need to be set up again as they were on the initial installation. If you are not techy, we recommended you have an expert from StreamWise Solutions come to your home for a paid service call to do this initial WiFi setup again.

Test Internet Speeds
  1. If you had the WiFi system installed by StreamWise Solutions, you should have the Deco App on your phone or tablet.  If not, you can download the Deco app from the Google Play or Apple App Store. You will need to log-in to the app.  When we installed the system, your technician created an account for you and should have written it down for your reference. If you don't know the password, just use the "Forgot password?" link in the app.
  2. Once in the app, on the bottom, select the "More" icon
  3. Now select Test Internet Speed
  4. From there, you can test the Internet Speed
That is the speed of your internet connection, not your WiFi speeds.  This should be close to the speed you are paying for from your Internet Service Provider.  If it's not, I would start by rebooting your Internet Modem, and if it's still problematic, you should contact your ISP for help.  Don't let them talk you into upgrading your speed just because you have buffering.  If you have Internet speeds over 20 Mbps, you generally shouldn't see buffering unless you have a lot of TVs streaming at the same time.
