On June 30th, 2020, YouTube TV has added new content from ViacomCBS, and as a result, they are increasing their pricing. There is no option to not add these new channels and keep old pricing.
Per YouTube TV: "To keep bringing you the best service possible, we are updating our membership price to $64.99. This new price will be effective immediately for new members, while existing members will see the new price beginning 7/30. We are committed to being the best way to stream TV. We hope YouTube TV continues to be your service of choice, but also understand this new price may not work for everyone. You can visit your membership settings to pause or cancel at any time here →

YouTube TV is offering a
form if you have feedback about this price change.
The nice thing about being a cord cutter is that you are not tied to a particular provider. The equipment we install gives you complete freedom to choose what provider makes the most sense for you. If you don't feel YouTube TV is still a good value for the service you are getting, you have the freedom to change or cancel anytime you want.
We are still recommending YouTube TV as the best and easiest option despite the price increase, especially if you are non-techy. If you just can't stomach the price increase, there are some other streaming services if you want to explore alternatives. Most of them offer some kind of free trial so you can see what you do and don't like.
HERE are instructions for installing an app.
- Philo - No local network channels, 60+ lifestyle cable channels (no news or sports), but great price at $20 a month.
- Sling - No local network channels, great selection for $30 and up. Limited DVR/Pause on some channels.
- Hulu Live - Options for network channels, cable channels, and on-demand streaming. Unique interface not loved by all. $55 a month includes a limited DVR. $10 extra for full DVR.
There are
other options out there, but we do not recommend them for various reasons. Also, check our our
Blog Post for more detailed info on what is outlined in this article.
If you live in a home, we highly recommend you
install an antenna to pair with Philo or Sling for cable channels if savings is important to you. This option does not work for people in apartments. Additionally, for a fee, we can come out to your home and help you get set-up with a new streaming service if it's overwhelming to make the transition yourself.
