Fire TV Name and Serial Number

Fire TV Name and Serial Number

You may want to see all of your Fire TV devices in one place so you can change the name of the device, see when the device was registered to you, or see the serial number of each device which you may need for support. It's easy to access all of this information on your Amazon account. To see your Fire TV devices:
  1. Log in to your amazon.com account
  2. In the top right corner, click on Accounts & Lists (or click on Your Account after hovering over that link)
  3. Under Digital content and devices, clock on Manage content and devices
  4. Select Devices up top (to the right of Content, which is selected by default)
  5. Click Fire TV (it will show you how many devices you have)
This list shows all of the Fire TV devices on your account, including Fire TV Sticks we installed, the Fire TV Recast, and any other Fire TV devices you have.  NOTE: The Fire TVs and the Fire TV Recast must be registered to the same Amazon account and on the same network to work properly.

When you install a Fire TV device, it will automatically name itself John's Fire TV (the name, instead of John, will be the first name of the Amazon account you registered the Fire TV to). If you have more than one Fire TV, it will name itself John's 2nd Fire TV, John's 3rd Fire TV, and so on.  You can change these names to match whatever name you want, like Living Room Fire TV, Bedroom Fire TV, Jane's Room Fire TV, etc. To see the serial number or to change the name of a specific Fire TV device:
  1. Select the Fire TV Device you want to change (you will see the serial number here)
  2. Click on Edit next to the name
  3. Update the name to whatever you want
  4. Click Save
That's it!  Now, if you are doing device mirroring or trying to use your phone as a Fire TV remote, it will be much easier to know which Fire TV is which.
