Century Link Modem / Gateway Upgrade Instructions for Mesh

Century Link Modem / Gateway Upgrade Instructions for Mesh

StreamWise Solutions customer:

If CenturyLink needs to upgrade your equipment for faster speeds, you will likely need a visit from a CenturyLink technician to get new wiring and equipment. To avoid disruption to your StreamWise Solutions system, it is VERY IMPORTANT that the CenturyLink technician disables WiFi on their equipment, and that you do not change any WiFi settings on any of your StreamWise Solutions equipment or other devices that are connected to the network installed by StreamWise Solutions Please print this note and present it to the CenturyLink technician when they arrive. Better yet, tape it on/near the current CenturyLink equipment. If the CenturyLink technician does not follow these instructions, and you change WiFi settings on your equipment, YOU WILL NEED TO PAY to have StreamWise Solutions come back out to fix what CenturyLink broke.

---------- Message to CenturyLink Technician ----------

This customer is using a WiFi network installed by StreamWise Solutions. All of the StreamWise Solutions equipment is connected to this WiFi network.

Once you have your new modem/router installed, connect the modem via Ethernet to the white WiFi “Puck” (current modem should already be connected to it) and DISABLE WIFI in your equipment. The white “puck” should be the only device connected to the CenturyLink equipment. You will want to power cycle the WiFi puck by unplugging it and plugging it back in after connecting it to the new modem.

If you do not disable WiFi, and you walk the customer through connecting their equipment to your new network, the customer will NOT BE ABLE TO WATCH TV, and they will have to PAY TO HAVE US COME OUT TO FIX IT. Even if you leave WiFi on and don’t connect anything to it, customers will often try connecting to the “new” network on their own, and THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WATCH TV, and we will still have to come out and the customer will still have to pay.

Thank you for your assistance!
